Un helicóptero se estrelló en Corea del Sur mientras trabajaba para combatir los incendios que se propagan en el condado Uiseong, ubicado a más de 200 kilómetros de Seúl, según los medios locales. Autoridades confirmaron la muerte del piloto, la única persona que estaba a bordo. Por su parte, el Ministerio de Seguridad Interior confirmó que 24 personas fallecieron y otras 26 resultaron heridas a causa de las llamas.
