La próxima semana, comenzamos la votación para el Héroe del Año de CNN de este año mientras revelamos los 5 mejores Héroes de CNN de 2024. Así que, esta semana, estamos poniéndonos al día con el Héroe del Año de CNN 2023, el Dr. Kwane Stewart, quien proporciona atención veterinaria gratuita a las mascotas cuyos dueños están experimentando la falta de vivienda. Kwane sorprendió al público el año pasado al regalar su dinero del premio para apoyar el trabajo de sus compañeros homenajeados Héroes. Desde entonces, su movimiento caritativo y sus esfuerzos inspiradores lo han convertido en un favorito de los seguidores, y amantes de los animales de todo el país se acercaron para ver cómo podían ayudar. En solo unos meses, Kwane vio aumentar las donaciones y pudo expandir su trabajo a siete ciudades. También creó despensas temporarias de alimentos para mascotas para aquellos que lo necesitan. Hasta la fecha, ha ayudado a más de 2.000 animales con atención que salva vidas, asistiendo a más de 500 tan solo este año.
